Lillehammer 1994
Success at home.
Efficient organisers, an enthusiastic public, and beautiful winter weather made the Lillehammer Games a spectacular popular festival.
The priority given to producing medal winners showed results: 26 Norwegian medals, 10 of them gold, topped the Albertville success two years earlier.
Johan Olav Koss was the great champion with his three skating golds and as many world records.
His humanitarian engagement also won much praise.
