Norway as a nation has been a host to the Olympic Games twice. In the Norwegian Olympic Museum you can learn more about the similarities and the differences between these.  

Norway has hosted the Olympic Winter Games twice: in Oslo in 1952 and in Lillehammer in 1994. The Games were a success, and the cities received a long-awaited boost. In Oslo, new sports facilities were finally built, and Lillehammer became a showcase for modern Norway. During hectic winter weeks, the cities were transformed into international metropolises with athletes delivering golden sporting moments for the history books
